In 1932, a series of bizarre murders occurred in Beihai City. During police detective Long Cong's investigation, he discovers that the murderer uses illusions to kill people under the guise of ghosts and monsters. Eventually, Long Cong, with the assistance of female reporter Hua Ling, brings the murderer to justice, but the hidden truth behind it is too much for him to accept.
