Tokoro Yui is a literature enthusiast who enrolls in the elite Sakuraba Academy, where her favorite author, Midorimachi Konoha, is a student, and takes the literature club test. However, while taking the test, a reconnaissance drone from the newspaper club struck Yui in the head, losing her the opportunity to join the club. Yui later discovered that everyone at school had yet to ascertain Konoha's identity. The leader of the literature club insists on Yui's involvement in discovering Konoha's true identity, so Yui joins the newspaper club, supposedly having the information. Yui developed an interest in journalism while working as a rookie reporter there. The story revolves around Tokoro Yui and the members of the high school newspaper club joining hands to explore the dark side of the adult world.
