Yoshinaga Seichi is a detective of the Kanagawa Prefecture Police’s First Investigative Division. He believes "there is no case that cannot be solved" and he never gives up on an investigation. His partner is Kagami Kiichi, whose father, Takashi, was the prefecture police’s legendary detective. Kujo Kazumai, a police official who graduated from Tokyo University, is sent to the First Investigative Division.
